GLENN H. DEVOURS THE COMPETITION AS WINNER OF VALLEY VIEW CASINO & HOTEL'S 2ND ANNUAL MAINE EVENT
(Valley Center, CA) – August 30, 2013 – Glenn H. from Encinitas clawed his way to victory, winning five years of free Maine Lobster Buffets courtesy of Valley View Casino & Hotel at the 2nd Annual Maine Event. In twenty short minutes, Glenn was able to consume almost seven pounds of his eight pound feast consisting of mashed potatoes, corn, dinner rolls, an apple cobbler and eighteen Maine lobster tails. As the winner of this competitive lobster eating contest, Glenn was presented with his prize by General Manager of Valley View Casino & Hotel, Bruce Howard, plus hosts John Coleman from KUSI and Kevin Dean from KyXy.
Following the intense competition, Glenn was shocked when he was revealed as the winner. "I didn't rush or feel pressured – I just enjoyed myself. The dessert was the best part!" he said. "The food at Valley View Casino & Hotel is absolutely the best and everything is excellent. The staff treated my family and I really well, offering to help us with anything, and we had a great time."
John Coleman kept the crowd laughing as the official emcee for the event, providing comic relief and commentary as the contestants struggled to devour their massive eight-pound lobster feast. Following a tense weigh-off between the two leading contenders, Glenn proved to be the ultimate challenger and Maine Event champion.
"The Maine Event was just as exciting the second time around thanks to the hard work of our chefs, team members and hosts," said Bruce Howard, General Manager of Valley View Casino & Hotel. "We look forward to seeing our winner Glenn at The Buffet as a regular guest and I hope that he comes to watch all of the Maine Event action next year."
